she served as an ambassador to the school and a tutor for her fellow professional colleagues. Her clinical and classroom work yielded academic achievement awards and bid her membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. She completed clinical rotations during her fourth year at a few private practices in addition to the William Feinbloom Low Vision Rehabilitation Center and Hahneman Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Harris went on to complete a residency in primary care and geriatric optometry at the West Los Angeles Veteran’s Administration. This added year of education provided her with a specialty in the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases. During the residency, she instructed students from Southern California College of Optometry on clinical performance, lectured at the VA hospital and nursing home, and organized grand rounds programs.
She is certified in diagnostic and therapeutic medical privileges both in California and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the National Association of VA optometrists, American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, and the California Optometric Association.
At the Assil Eye Institute, Dr. Harris provides comprehensive eye care examinations, treatment and management of ocular diseases, as well as pre and post operative care for cataracts, LASIK, and corneal transplants. She specifically works with Dr. Assil in preparing pre-surgical plans for all of his intraocular lens procedures. She is extremely excited to continue her clinical and academic growth with such a talented group of professionals at the Assil Eye Institute.
