Santa Monica Laser Vision Correction

At the Assil Eye Institute in Santa Monica, we want to be sure you're fully informed and ready for your laser vision correction procedure. Aftercare is a very important part of the process, and we want you to know what to expect. After your surgery, you may feel a little discomfort in your eyes. This discomfort may be in the form of a burning or itching sensation. You may feel as if there is something in your eyes. For most laser vision correction patients, however, this discomfort is mild or nonexistent. To help you stay comfortable during the initial recovery stage, your surgeon may recommend a mild pain reliever.

After laser vision correction surgery, you may notice that your eyes water a bit or that your vision is slightly blurry. This is all quite normal. Though you may feel the urge to rub your eyes, it is very important to resist the impulse. If you rub your eyes, you could move the corneal flap, prolonging your recovery and necessitating additional treatment.

How Will Your Eyes Change after Santa Monica Laser Vision Correction?
For a short period of time after laser vision correction, your eyes may be overly sensitive to light. You may notice a glare or halo effect in lighted areas. Your eyes may appear bloodshot. Generally, these symptoms begin to lessen after just a few days. However, if your symptoms seem to get worse or you experience severe pain, you should contact your LASIK surgeon immediately.
